Paul Pogba is set to resume his professional football career after his doping suspension, joining AS Monaco. The French club officially announced the signing on Saturday, June 28. This move marks Pogba's return to the pitch after his ban concluded.
The World Cup winner has signed a two-year contract with AS Monaco, committing to the club until June 30, 2027. He aims to rejuvenate his career after serving the suspension.
In February 2024, Pogba received a four-year ban after testing positive for DHEA, a substance known to elevate testosterone levels. Following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the ban was reduced to 18 months. Consequently, Juventus terminated Pogba's contract in November of the previous year by mutual agreement.

"AS Monaco are delighted to announce the arrival of Paul Pogba. The French World Champion has signed a two-season deal, having signed with the Principality until 30 June 2027," the club stated.
Pogba initially rose to prominence with Manchester United before establishing himself as a key player for Juventus. During his time with the Turin-based club, he secured four Serie A titles. In 2016, he returned to Manchester United for a then-world record fee of 89 million pounds.
However, his second stint with the Premier League side yielded only two trophies. He subsequently left the club on a free transfer, rejoining Juventus in 2022. Unfortunately, his second period at Juventus was marred by injuries, leading to his departure.
Pogba's last appearance for France was in 2022, and he was unable to participate in the Qatar World Cup due to injury. Last season, Monaco finished third in Ligue 1, trailing behind PSG and Marseille.
