Ishan Kishan is clearly relishing his time in the UK. Following consecutive half-centuries for Nottinghamshire in the County Championship, the Indian cricketer provided some unexpected entertainment by trying his hand at bowling.
During a drawn match against Somerset in Taunton, Kishan was given the opportunity to bowl an over. He showcased his versatility by delivering both off-spin and leg-spin.
For his first delivery, Kishan remarkably imitated the iconic action of Harbhajan Singh, bowling over the wicket to Tom Kohler-Cadmore. The impression was so accurate it delighted fans and teammates.
He then bowled a couple of conventional off-spinners before switching to bowling around the wicket, channeling the legendary Shane Warne and delivering leg-spin. Although his final delivery strayed wide, the umpire refrained from calling a wide ball.
That over turned out to be the final one of the match. Kishan concluded his bowling stint with figures of 0 for 1. A clip of his surprise bowling performance for Nottinghamshire quickly gained traction on social media.
Kohler-Cadmore's unbeaten 147 propelled Somerset to declare at 238 for 4 in their second innings, leading by 108 runs when both teams agreed to a draw. In the first innings, Somerset scored 379, with significant contributions from Tom Banton and Tom Abell. Nottinghamshire responded strongly, posting 509 in 163.2 overs, highlighted by centuries from Ben Slater (124) and Jack Haynes (157).
Ishan Kishan contributed a brisk 77 in the middle order, including eight boundaries and two sixes. Earlier, in his County debut against Yorkshire, he scored a rapid 87 off 98 balls, featuring 12 fours and a six.
The 26-year-old Ishan Kishan, who last played a Test for India in July 2023, is making the most of his time in County Cricket. He maintained a good rhythm during IPL 2025, scoring 354 runs in 14 matches for SunRisers Hyderabad.
Despite not playing for India since November 2023, Kishan remains prepared for any opportunities that may arise.
