ChatGPT Suffers Global Disruption: Service Restored
ChatGPT experienced a global outage, leaving numerous users unable to access the popular AI chatbot. Downdetector, a website that tracks outages, reported a surge in complaints indicating widespread accessibility issues.
Reports indicated that approximately 91% of users encountered problems accessing ChatGPT. 7% faced website access issues, while the remaining users struggled to log into their accounts. Frustrated users turned to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their concerns about the disruption.
OpenAI Acknowledges and Resolves Issue
OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, acknowledged the outage on its official status page. The company cited "increased latency and errors" affecting both ChatGPT and its APIs.
The good news is that the service has since been restored. According to the OpenAI Status page, the latency issue has been resolved, and "performance is now back to normal."
The TOI Tech team confirmed the restoration, successfully accessing ChatGPT via both the web and mobile app without encountering any issues.
