Rishabh Pant's historic twin centuries at Headingley propelled him to seventh in ICC Test rankings, while Ben Duckett's stellar performance secured him eighth position. Shubman Gill climbed to 20th after a century. Jasprit Bumrah remains the top Test bowler. In T20Is, Michael Levitt and Brandon McMullen made significant gains, reflecting the growing competitiveness in international cricket.

The latest ICC Test rankings reflect a week of remarkable performances across both Test and T20I cricket. India's Rishabh Pant and England's Ben Duckett are the major headline, reaching career-best rankings after impressive performances in the first Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Headingley.

Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah

Rishabh Pant has surged to seventh position in the ICC Test batting rankings following his pair of centuries at Headingley. The aggressive wicketkeeper-batsman scored 134 and 118, becoming only the second wicketkeeper in Test history, after Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower in 2001, to achieve hundreds in both innings of a Test match. Pant is also the first Indian wicket-keeper batter to achieve 800 rating points in Test history.

Joe Root remains the top-ranked Test batter globally, closely followed by his fellow countryman Harry Brook in second place. India’s Shubman Gill has risen five places to 20th after his century in the first innings.

India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah continues to hold the No. 1 Test bowler position, following yet another five-wicket haul at Headingley. His consistent performance with the red ball confirms his dominance. England’s Ben Stokes has moved up three places to claim the No. 5 spot in the Test all-rounder rankings, marking his highest position in recent months.

The T20I rankings have also seen significant movement after the tri-series in Glasgow between the Netherlands, Nepal, and Scotland. Dutch batter Michael Levitt has jumped 16 places to 14th after a series of consistent displays. Scotland’s Brandon McMullen has also impressed, climbing 20 places to joint 38th.

The ICC rankings are a key measure of individual performance, and every run and wicket contribute to the ever-changing hierarchy of cricket.
