Bobby Darling, a veteran of the entertainment industry with over 25 years of experience, has captivated audiences with her vibrant performances in numerous films and television series. However, beneath the surface of her confident persona lies a deeply personal and sorrowful narrative.
In a recent, emotionally charged interview, Bobby, a transgender Indian actress formerly known as Pankaj Sharma (now Pakhi Sharma), made a startling revelation. She expressed profound guilt over her mother's death, even going so far as to call herself "the killer."
Speaking with Siddharth Kannan, Bobby became visibly emotional as she recounted a traumatic incident from her adolescence. "I am responsible for my mother's death," she confessed, tearfully recalling how she ran away from home in 1988. "I stole my mom's jewellery and sold it in Chandni Chowk market. They were my mom's wedding jewellery."
Explaining her desperate actions, Bobby stated that she feared her father's reaction if she failed her 12th-grade exams. She used the 30,000 rupees she got from selling the jewellery to run away. "My mom was very attached to her jewellery, as it was given by her mother," she added.
The weight of Bobby's remorse intensified upon her return from abroad. She recounted her father's revelation of her mother's last words: "She said, 'Tera satyanaash ho jaye.' My father told her not to curse me."
Bobby elaborated, "I went to Hong Kong to work. I would miss my mother a lot. She was sad after I eloped from the house. I am responsible for my mom's death. I am the killer. I had a bad dream about my mother's death. Main bahut royi, mujhe bahut pachtawa hua."
Following her mother's death, Bobby sought to honor her memory. She revealed that her mother had been an officer at Standard Chartered Bank. "After her demise, my father recommended my name to work in the bank. I did a clerical job in the same," she said.
Despite the enduring pain, Bobby persevered in pursuing her aspirations. She carved a successful career in Bollywood, starring in numerous popular films, including 'Taal', 'Na Tum Jaano Na Hum', 'Maine Dil Tujhko Diya', 'Jeena Sirf Merre Liye', 'Chalte Chalte', 'Page 3', 'Kyaa Kool Hai Hum' and 'Apna Sapna Money Money'.
