Chess: Praggnanandhaa among others competing at Grand Swiss.
Boxing: The World Championships begin with plenty of Indian boxers in action.
Kabaddi: PKL 12 saw Puneri Paltan bring up their third straigh win by beating Bengal Warriorz 45-36, after which Haryana Steelers beat U Mumba 7-6 (36-36) in tie-breakers.
Tennis: Yuki Bhambri reached his first-ever Grand Slam quarterfinal at the US Open (men's doubles); Maaya Rajeshwaran went down fighting in the junior event.
Football: India (M) defender Sandesh Jhingan was ruled out for rest of CAFA Nations Cup with an injury.
Hockey: India drew 2-2 against South Korea in their first Super 4 match at the Asia Cup.
Football: India beat Bahrain 2-0 in their opening match of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, thanks goals from Muhammad Suhail and Shivaldo Singh.
