India named an unchanged playing XI for their all-important clash against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday, September 14 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. As a result, left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh once again missed out from the playing XI as he earlier also didn’t feature in the opening fixture against UAE.
Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and opted to bat first in the crucial clash as both teams went into the fixture with unchanged sides. Both teams fielded a spin-heavy team as Haris Rauf also failed to make it to the Pakistan playing XI.

However, Arshdeep Singh’s absence from the Indian playing XI once again made headlines as the left-arm seamer is the highest wicket taker of the country in T20Is. Arshdeep has scalped 99 wickets from 63 innings in T20Is at an average of 18.30 with best figures of 4/9.
Against Pakistan, the 26-year-old has scalped seven wickets from four innings at an average of 17.57 with best figures of 3/32 during the famous 2022 T20 World Cup clash in Melbourne.
Speaking at the toss, Suryakumar revealed that they were looking to bowl first as well, as there would be some dew later in the evening.
“We were looking to bowl first, happy with it. We played just one strip away, was a nice wicket and better to bat on in the night. It's humid so hoping for some dew. Same team,” said Suryakumar at the toss.
